During September 2020, people with disabilities, family members, and advocates in Indiana had the opportunity to report how well they felt their communities were doing in implementing the Americans with Disabilities Act. They were asked to “grade” their communities and to point out areas where there was need for more progress in coming into compliance with the ADA.

Respondents were quite informed about the ADA. 72% of Indiana respondents reported that they have above average to very high knowledge of the law.

These respondents covered 43 out of Indiana’s 92 counties. 66% of the respondents were from central Indiana counties, 17% were from southern Indiana counties, and 17% were from the northern counties of the State.
