This year the United States will celebrate the 31st Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (the ADA) on July 26. ADA-Indiana encourages organizations and individuals to take part in the #ADA31 - Celebrate, Learn, Share campaign being supported by the ADA National Network.
CELEBRATE - ADA-Indiana will participate in the ADA Anniversary Celebration event hosted by the City of Bloomington on July 31 from 10 a.m. to Noon E.T. If your local community is planning a local Celebration event, either in-person or virtually, contact ADA-Indiana (email adainfo@iu.edu or call 812-856-5251). We would like to provide free materials to distribute at the event.
LEARN - Learn about the experiences of Hoosiers working for the passage and the implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act in Indiana by visiting the ADA in Indiana online exhibit on the Indiana Disability History website. Learn the basics of the ADA by taking the online, ADA Basic Building Blocks Course, or by attending free online trainings each month (visit ADA-Indiana Events page for upcoming webinars)
SHARE - This year, the ADA National Network will be using the following hashtags on social media - #ADA31 or #ThanksToTheADA - to share information and resources commemorating the 31st Anniversary.
Visit ADA-Indiana's website to find more events and resources to commemorate the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
