Webinar: Kitchens and Kitchenettes and the ADA Standards

This is a free webinar offered through a collaboration of the U.S. Access Board, the Great Lakes ADA Center, and the ADA National Network.

From the Great Lakes ADA Center: Access to kitchens and kitchenettes is the subject of many technical inquiries received by the U.S. Access Board. This webinar will review scoping and technical requirements for kitchens and kitchenettes in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) Accessibility Standards. Presenters will also address frequently asked questions and common sources of confusion concerning accessible kitchens and kitchenettes.

Webinar: Lessons from the COVID-19 Vaccine Experience

This is a free webinar offered through the Healthcare and the ADA-Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities Webinar Series, hosted by the Pacific ADA Center.

Excerpt from the Pacific ADA Center: This presentation will review the experiences of Medicaid beneficiaries and people with disabilities in California and nationally related to vaccine prioritization and deployment, and reflect on lessons for policy and practice that will support greater equity moving forward. Webinar participants will learn about vaccine prioritization protocols and the ways California and other states balanced their goals of speed and equity in vaccine deployment. Webinar participants will learn about some of the promising practices implemented by California and other states during vaccine deployment and implications of those practices for future pandemics or instances of health care rationing/shortages.

Webinar: ADA Jeopardy: Learn, Connect and Celebrate 30 Years of the ADA National Network

This special session is hosted by the Great Lakes ADA Center on behalf of the ADA National Network.

From the Great Lakes ADA Center: Tune-in to this fun-filled, accessible virtual game of jeopardy to help you learn more about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Connect and engage with the ten regional ADA centers in the ADA National Network as they answer ADA related questions! Attendees will have a chance to get in on the game by suggesting questions for the bonus round. If you have a question to suggest please submit it when you register and it may be selected as the "Bonus Round" question. The session with have sign language interpreters and live real-time captioning.

Webinar: How Personal Assistance Services Promote the Self-Determination of People with Disabilities Recovering from Disaster

This is a free webinar offered through the Emergency Management and Preparedness - Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities Webinar Series, hosted by the Pacific ADA Center and the ADA National Network.

From the Pacific ADA Center: The Personal Assistance Services Addendum to the Mass Care/Emergency Assistance Pandemic Planning Considerations released in January 2021 increases collaboration, planning, and knowledge surrounding the importance of establishing continuity of services for people with disabilities, prior to a disaster. Without proper planning for, or providing, Personal Assistance Services at the onset of a disaster sheltering mission, the health and safety of disaster survivors may be at risk.

This is a free webinar offered through the Job Accommodation Network (JAN). JAN is funded through the U.S. Department of Labor to provide technical assistance on workplace accommodations.

Webinar: Disability and Juvenile Justice

This is a free webinar offered through the Mid-Atlantic ADA Center, one of the 10 Regional ADA Centers in the ADA National Networkthat provides training and technical assistance on the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Webinar: The ADA and Our Jails - Delivering Service to All with Dignity and Respect

This is a free webinar offered through the Mid-Atlantic ADA Center, one of the 10 Regional ADA Centers in the ADA National Network that provides training and technical assistance on the Americans with Disabilities Act.

From the Mid-Atlantic ADA Center:  This session will take a look at the ADA and our jails, from the time individuals enter booking until the day they are released. How do you properly ensure that all individuals in your custody have access to programs, services, and a level playing field? Regardless of the disability, it is our responsibility to ensure that those entrusted to us while serving their sentences are treated with dignity and respect.

Webinar - ADA Anniversary Update

The ADA Audio Conference series is coordinated by the Great Lakes ADA Center on behalf of the ADA National Network.

Webinar: Lessons Learned from ADA Coordinators Working within Diverse Healthcare Organizations

This is a free webinar offered through the Healthcare and the ADA-Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities Webinar Series, hosted by the Pacific ADA Center.

Excerpt from the Pacific ADA Center:  A growing number of healthcare organizations are hiring fulltime ADA Coordinators. It is unknown how ADA Coordinators are integrated into healthcare organizations, including what types of roles and responsibilities they have and the types of initiatives they lead. The presentation will present findings from interviews with ADA Coordinators who represent 20 healthcare systems across the country. Specifically, we will present findings on the job titles and duties ADA Coordinators have, the types of initiatives they lead, how they collaborate with groups within and outside of their healthcare systems, their budgetary supports and constraints, and ongoing challenges they experience.

Webinar: Web Accessibility Requirements under Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Version 3 (WCAG3)

This is a free webinar offered through the Great Lakes ADA Center on behalf of the federal partners.

From the Great Lakes ADA Center:  The Section 508 Standards apply the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 to web content and other electronic content. Issued by the W3C, WCAG 2.0 is a globally recognized, technology-neutral standard. This session will feature new and differing approaches to web accessibility requirements proposed for the next generation of these guidelines, the draft WCAG 3.0, (or WCAG3).
